I saw this MICHAEL Michael Kors bag on Saturday afternoon and immediately fell madly in love.
I’m now busy trying to come up with an excuse to buy it. So far, the only thing I’ve masterminded is because I want to…
and unfortunately I just don’t think that will fly with Mr. H.
wednesday wonders
I could navigate Shopbop everyday for the rest of my life and ALWAYS stumble upon something new and exciting [which doesn’t bode well for my bank account]. Last week was the flat sandal search (I finally went with these in Papaya) and this week— well, the entire site is 20% off.
Peruse at your own risk.
Here are a few of my [most recent] favorites:

1- Fore eyelet tank dress // 2- Tory Burch backpack // 3- diamond scarf // 4- Archer cuff // 5- MSGM tribal print dress // 6- Elora dress // 7- Joie blouse // 8- Marc by Marc Jacobs polka dot dress // 9- Dean Davidson pendant // 10- BCBG “Libby” dress // 11- Raleigh weekender bag (come on- how could I not include this!?) // 12- Stateside twisted back tee // 13- Fore eyelet blouse // 14- DKNY leather jacket // 15- Madison Marcus dress
Happy shopping wishes and discounted dreams.
We all know how much I adore my heel- highs (what I called ‘em as a wee lass) but sometimes teetering around in ridiculous stilettos can leave you looking rather— well, ridiculous.
I’ve been on the hunt for a neutral, flat(ish) summer sandal that I can rely on for those fun weekend outings [farmers market, anyone?] where my usual suspects just won’t do.
L to R; top to bottom: Coclico flat sandals // Belle by Sigerson Morrison low wedges // Rachel Zoe “Scarlett” sandal // Matiko “Bryn” low sandals // DvF “Dottie” wedge sandals // Ancient Greek thong sandals // Ancient Greek “Clio” metallic sandals // Ancient Greek demi wedges // Jeffrey Campbell studded sandals (admittedly, these aren’t very practical but they are super cute) // Isa Tapia “Juanita” flat // House of Harlow “Aggie” beaded sandal // See by Chloe neon ankle strap sandals
Do you all have any suggestions on a fab neutral, comfortable, flat sandal that I should try? While we’re at it, let’s go ahead and address the elephant in the corner with this rather unpopular opinion — I can’t stand Jack Rogers [they’re like walking on pieces of plywood] so they are totally out of the running.
Wednesday Wonders
It was 40 degrees last Thursday and today it’s near 90. Apparently NC proper has decided to forgo it’s individual seasons so it can lump everything together in the fantasy suite.
Wait— I think I might be confusing myself here.
Anyhow, bring on the summer prints, bare arms, and color!
1- Istmo tunic // 2- OB. SESSED with this Rose Pierre bracelet (it looks like rock candy!) // 3- Kenneth Jay Lane stick necklace // 4- Annabel Ingall small neon tote // 5- Bondi beach bag // 6- Rebecca Minkoff sandals // 7- Dorothy Perkins striped skirt (25% off with code DPFWE) // 8- the most amazing Jimmy Choo pumps I’ve ever seen in my entire life // 9- Classic Ray Ban aviators
Ps- have you entered the amazeballs giveaway for a custom KB moss wreath? because you should. click here for the low-down.
A [ShopBop] Spring Sale!

Wednesday Wonders: the “I have no creative name for this edition” edition
You know what I’m ready for? 70 degrees. And sunshine. You know what I’m not here to support ANY.LONGER? Freezing cold morning commutes, tights, boots, and sweaters. And wind. Can’t forget the [blasted] wind. I’m over all of those things.
While my attitude towards this weather we’re having (shakes fist at Mother Nature) might not change anything, I’m still going to be sit here willing the arrival of warmer temperatures.
And before you know it, we’ll be complaining of the heat and wishing sweater weather were here to stay. Such is life…

three Anthro frocks that are perfectly suited for Spring [if it ever decides to arrive] fêtes
Karen Walker polka dots // 4.Collective labrynth print // Karen Walker Day dress
All dresses 20% off at Anthropologie now through Sunday.
stitch fix: take three
Okay, folks. Month three here. You would think that I’ve gotten more accustomed to this whole “shopping surprise in a turquoise and white box” but the excitement has yet to wear off. In true Elizabeth style, I immediately checked my account once my order shipped and learned what 5 items were en route to the H house.
3 dresses?! and a hammered gold necklace?! SWEET ASS!
So here’s my booty:
(no, not THAT booty— booty as in pirate’s loot. get your head out of the gutter…)

Moon sleeveless knit dress- by far my favorite from the box but the pointelle knit in the skirt is totally see through (though you might not be able to tell from the photo). I tried with a pair of Spanx- but let’s be honest here, gang. Spanx & NC in mid-July temps are NOT a pretty pair. Plus, like a bad relationship, if it takes THAT much work this early on I highly doubt it’s worth it in the long run. Plus it was a tad on the big side and too long for my frame. Sorry dress- back you go. [ps- it was also $120]

Watercolor floral dress- way too big & bummed because this dress with it’s floral print and peplum detail would have certainly been a keeper. I believe this one was priced around $80.

Tart navy rope twist dress- cute but would have sat unworn in my closet all summer. Just not my style and for $100 I knew I could find something cuter.
There was also a navy knit cardigan sweater thing in there (see below) that was literally down to my knees and dry clean only. No thanks. Back into the box.

My complete fix- floral dress, necklace, navy sweater, turquoise knit dress, and rope dress.
I did keep the long Gorjana hammered gold necklace (see above; available here) which has been worn nearly every day since it’s arrival. It’s simple yet it can be layered with a chunky necklace for a more statement-like punch. You should get one so we can be twins. Because this bauble will be in constant rotation well into 2015.
Also, I kind of learned how to use my tripod for my DSLR camera. I say “kind of” because- well, let’s all agree it’s a work in progress. ((mental flashback to me balancing the damn tripod on the bed in my best attempt to get an okay shot here)) At least I can be self deprecating if I’m going to post these quasi acceptable half-shots of myself in these frocks. The good news is that you can see the clothes without having to stare at my [now shattered] iPhone. The bad news is that the pictures suck. Let’s all deal with it and move on, okay.
Here is more information & how you can sign up for the monthly subscription service that I’ve come to love [referral link used FYI]. And here are the January and February links to my orders in case you’d like to take a peek back.
Am I shocked at the style that arrived? No, not really. I wish the stylist would pick things a tad more adventurous for me (as I’ve noted in my feedback). But all in all, I do think my $20 is well spent paying for this monthly service. When I stop getting excited about my deliveries and tired of providing feedback in terms of my “style profile”, I’ll likely cancel my subscription. But until then, count me as a satisfied customer.
a few baubles I’d like to be wearing on this dreary [Mon]day
paper airplanes // triangle bib // pointy collar // & a bonus: all under $75
ps- I’m also rather fond of this Pac Man Monserat De Lucca number
Wednesday Wonders: hello, Spring!
1- Pim & Larkin necklace // 2- Erickson Beamon stud earrings // 3- BCBG mesh booties // 4- Ivanka Trump pumps // 5- Amazonite statement ring // 6- C. Wonder shark tooth earrings // 7- Madewell ex-boyfriend shirt (perfection w/ distressed skinnies) // 8- Giles and Brother railroad spike bracelet // 9- Adia Kibur navy necklace // 10- Ayna Hindmarch tote // 11- Tory Burch Georgie wedges // 12- Michael Kors slim watch
Though the weather isn’t quite cooperating with the eastern seaboard I’m still ready to usher in this new season with gusto (and new shoes, naturally).
I know I’ve said this probably one thousand times (more like with the change of every season) before- but Spring, boy have we been waiting for your arrival!
