Unabashedly Uncorked - YOUR DAILY DOSE OF EPH

Anything that involves mixing and matching different patterns these days = solid outfits in my book. Even though Blake tried to warn me that my “dots and plaid” didn’t match this am.

I also must say that I’ve never considered myself much of a blouse girl. The day that you find me combining a blouse and a pair of slacks to wear to work- someone check my temperature because the only explanation for this is that I’m delirious with a fever. That just isn’t my style. But this blouse- this can be worn with everything— dresses, distressed skinny jeans, chino shorts. A key investment piece if you will. I’ve learned over the past few months that blouses can be worn with key pieces to create really darling outfits— no need to rely on just wearing them with slacks! Man, I was missing out.

dress: J. Crew (old; similar style in grey) // blouse: c/o Vineyard Vines // tortoise pyramid stacked bracelet: J. Crew (this was actually purchased as a Christmas gift. whoops) // necklace: Dana Buchman (this would have also looked lovely) // leopard pumps: Ann Taylor (last year; similar)

It’s also worth noting that these leopard calf hair numbers are my favorite things to unpack for the Fall season.

I was husband-less this weekend with B in Asheville for my brother’s Guys Weekend [aka bachelor bash]. Which to me means sushi for dinner on Friday night, an afternoon spent with a couple of my most favorite people in the world on Saturday, and an 8 am shopping excursion to Target on Sunday morning. God forbid I miss out on anything from the Phillip Lim experience. Did y’all score any fun goodies?
I’ll be honest here, gang. The next few weeks are insane for me. Next week I’m in Charlotte (hi Gray! and Colleen!) for 2 days then off to Atlanta for 2 more— and the week following I’m on the road again for a divisional conference. I’m not used to this whole “living out of a suitcase” theme and it’s going to take some getting used to. I know I’ll fair just fine but the anticipation and loss of my normalcy [not to mention my schedule] has me slightly on edge. But I would be lying if I said I’m not the teeniest bit excited for this opportunity to get out and stretch my legs in other markets. Not to mention potentially trying out some new running trails!
Even more exciting is this coming weekend in Charleston for my soon-to-be SIL’s bachelorette party and then K & B’s BIG DAY just right around the corner on October 12th.
My theme song for the next 4 weeks certainly will be “On the Road Again…”
striped dress: J.Crew (similar) // jacket: Forever 21 (a more thrifty version of this Rag & Bone number) // nude wedges: Banana Republic // bag: Phillip Lim for Target  // link necklace: J.Crew (though I actually think this one would have looked cuter)

Remember how I told you I don’t have access to a full length mirror right now? Yeah- don’t judge for the bathroom photo shoot, y’all.

Also- let’s talk about the lipstick I just went all “out on a limb” and purchased. I told the gal @ Bobbi Brown that I wanted to try something a little bolder than my typical blah pink shades [of gloss]. She went bold alright. I just hope I don’t walk around looking like the Joker [Heath Ledger version] when I try to apply this myself.

{blazer} Gap // {tee} J. Crew // {skinnies} J. Crew // {necklace} Vestique; similar // {cap-toe pumps} Forever21 // {sunnies} House of Harlow // {lipsmear} Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color #14 (aptly named “HOT” though presumably not after me) // this camera angle does nothing for my figure

TGIF, peeps.
